Night at the Art museum connecting to art history
What did we do in Art this year? Lots of skill building, discussion, observation, and messy wonderful hands on creating!
1-1+Mr. Bones Part I – compare/ contrast, imaginary skeletons with observed drawings, graphite pencil.
2/3-2+Cubist Fairytale Villains- Art History connection, color values, hue plus black or white, construction paper collage
4/5/6-3+ Little Red Riding Hood-Russian Matryoshka nesting/concentric circles, dolls are created using printed resources working with design, storytelling, details and composition. Sharpie/Watercolor and Watercolor pencils. Marc Chagall was our art history inspiration.
7-1+ Event Project Picasso musicians- colorful Guitars inspired by Picasso and Romare Bearden, color blending and collage
8 Chinese New Year dragon- cross culture, designing with shapes and exploring chalk pastels
9/10-2+ Dinosaur Yearbook- building on class themes, students create their own Dino student for a group yearbook project. Printed resources, pencil, color pencil, sharpie and crayon
My colorful Guitar- artists created their own guitar centered composition using, crayons, color pencil, bleeding tissue paper, markers and collage to build their image and fill it with electric energy!
