Summer art into the 2021-22 School Year


Over the summer I worked on 2 very special chairs they were build by our very own Mr. H and sold in our 2020-21 on line fund raiser auction.

Students followed a series of direct drawing instructions to create their own mini shape monsters. 

The book Glad Monster Sad Monster- A book about Feelings gave us a lot of inspiration too!

This month our virtual art program will really start to roll out.

What will the Zoom virtual class sessions focus on?

Kinder: Where the Wild Things Are-min monsters.

1st: The Art teacher is Weird-shapes lines monsters.

2nd :Chinese New Year/Draw a Dragon

3rd: Cursive writing and drawing an owl.

4th: Drawing a tree in a landscape.

5th: Faces and Feelings.

6th: beginning perspective/city drawing.


I like to combine books, art history as well as materials and hands on instruction. 


That's a lot to pack into a 30 minutes session!

Season 2 of Porch Stories with Mrs. Kane and Ms. Jane start the new season with American Master Georgia O'Keeffe

Artist/Art instructor Bob Ross has inspired thousands and thousands of people to pick up a brush and just start painting. Here is the link to his youtube site that has lots of his 20-30 TV instructional videos. His voice alone is perfect to calm your nerves on a stressful day...so make some happy little accidents with a friend.

As we continue with safe distance learning I will continue to provide my teachers, students and families with fun and challenging take home art coloring pages. We are starting this session off with The Dot book and the polkadot princess artist Yayoi Kusama! Plus a few extra treats too...print color and enjoy.
