We started the year outside

 For the first few weeks I met with 4th, 5th and 6th graders in our lovely school garden. With nature as our classroom students used close observation and created their own compositions, drawing with pencil an or chalk pastels.

What will the Zoom virtual class sessions focus on?

Kinder: Where the Wild Things Are-min monsters.

1st: The Art teacher is Weird-shapes lines monsters.

2nd :Chinese New Year/Draw a Dragon

3rd: Cursive writing and drawing an owl.

4th: Drawing a tree in a landscape.

5th: Faces and Feelings.

6th: beginning perspective/city drawing.


I like to combine books, art history as well as materials and hands on instruction. 


That's a lot to pack into a 30 minutes session!
