Wrapping up 2021-22

 Well my dears that about wraps up another school year. It was a challenge to one and all but we did it together and that makes my heart glad. Enjoy your summer break and take time to rest, I know I will.

 Wrapping up the 2nd half of the school year our upper grade students began to return to the Art Room for their studio sessions.

This was a joyful adjustment for one and all.

The Art Room is filled with so much Extra and I was glad we could gather there again.

By the end of the school year grades 3rd-6th were having all of their classes in the Art Room.

Here is what 3rd grade did this year in Art

We started our Art Year with Mr. Bones and learning about the human body

The rest of the year other Animals were our main Artistic subject.

Some had connections to Indigenous cultures and folk tales like the bear and owl 

Others made International cultural connections like the Year of the Tiger for Lunar New Years 

There were also several Art History connections 

Lots of drawing, collage and hands on creativity skill building and exploration of materials 

The human skeleton is so fascinating and fun to draw 

The owl project connects to cursive writing skills
keeping your pen/pencil touching the paper 

This project had many pattern pieces and numerous steps in its construction
