Working with a heart shape and using a ruler to divide out the surface students explore adding white and black to a hue. After the paint dried lines were redrawn with Sharpie.

4th grade session III

Time to complete the day of the dead foil skull project, adding the last of the embellishments.

5th grade session III realistic tree

For the past two sessions students have been drawing trees in a landscape and learning the basic elements of a landscape while creating a dramatic composition. Lots of discussion, observation and compare/contrast. Session 3 the artists used watercolors to complete their sketch. Working in layers and building colors they were challenged to create a realistically inspired landscape. This project is designed to introduce watercolor techniques and build painting skills.
