What did we do in Art this year? Lots of skill building, discussion, observation, and messy wonderful hands on creating!

1/2/3-3+ Zentangle Patchwork Landscapes-Sharpie on Neon Paper, build a whimsical landscape with 3-5 hills,1-3 trees, create interest with pattern and design. Use gel pens to add detail and drama. Your imaginary landscape what is your story, who lives here?

4/5/6-3+ Broken Heart color values and line project-color value and blending, creating an interesting composition with a limited color palette. Inspired by Pop Art and Picasso

7-1+Event Project-Tree of love, collage and painting using metallics, inspired by Klimt’s Tree of Life painting.

8 Modigliani self-portraits- how to draw a face oil pastels and direct drawing using a grid format, color blending setting a mood or tone.

9-12 Colorful Still Life- Matisse inspired cut paper, oil pastels, collage, pattern building, design and 3-D elements. Creating a complex composition and following a series of directions.




Artistic inspirations: Vincent Van Gogh, Romare Bearden, Matisse, 18th and 19th century still life paintings, JW Turner, Leonardo Di Vinci/Mona Lisa, Cartoon/Animation, Georgia O’Keeffe. Matisse cut paper works. Pop Art, Warhol, Klimt, Modigliani, Folk Art
