1st grade art works 2017-18

Night at the Art Museum, connecting to art history
What did we do in Art this year? Lots of skill building, discussion, observation, and messy wonderful hands on creating!

1/2-3 Rainbow Spider-crayon resist, watercolor, Sharpie and collage. Learning about spiders, body parts and habits.


3 (on going)  Hand-made- tracing the human hand, looking at Aboriginal Art work, adding patterns and designs, using sharpies, gel pens and color pencils on black paper. Where are we in the world?


4/5 - Direct drawing line direction and colors connected to Sonia Delaunay – line direction and color building to create an interesting composition.

6/7 Little Red Hen- trace a pattern, cut and design, create a nest, following a series of directions.

8-1.5 Event project- Rousseau jungle image-drawing and tissue paper collage


9/10/11Tiger Tiger -  Direct drawing of tiger face create jungle with cut paper add flowers and insects 


12-1 Cherry Blossom project painting inspired by Japanese pen and ink compositions. Color blending to create blossoms
